Using the Case Screen

The case screen is the most important part of JRMS. All your data concerning each Judgment Case is available from this screen.

Fields in YELLOW are editable, fields in WHITE are automatically generated based on the data you've entered for that case.
1. Submenu. Click on each tab to go from one section to the next.
2. Case Information. Entry Date - date this case was entered in your database. Interest Starting - corresponds to the day you start calculating interests. Case State - Selecting a state changes the Case Interest % and the Case Validity length. IMPORTANT: DO NOT CHANGE THE STATE AFTER YOU HAVE ENTERED DATA IN THE LEDGER.
3. & 4. Financial Information. Your Service Fee - Flat fee you charge to the Judgment Creditor (Plaintiff) in order to recover money for this file. This is not your share from the recovery amount but a flat fee that is removed from the Plaintiff's share of the recovery. Progress Rate - Represent your progression in recovering money for this case.
5. Case Status - Select a new status from the pull down each time the status of your case changes. This will automatically record the new changes in a log file. You can view the log file called Status Progress timeline.
6. Case History - As recorded in the court's files.
7. Options available. Printing reports for this case etc...
8. Use these arrows to browse through your records.
1. Select a party from the ones available in your database from the pull down menus to attach it to the case. You can edit a party selected or create a new one.
2. General Comments. Write down any notes you have regarding this case.
3. Events Manager. You can keep track of each major event by writing it down in this section with its corresponding date.
1. The ledger is very simple to use. Only 4 fields are editable by you for each line. The end date, which is the date the operation occurs, the description where you can enter anything (example: bank levy), the recovery amount, and the cost amount.
BASIC RULE - Using the ledger is very simple once you respect this basic rule: You cannot edit the data of any line prior to the last one. If you wish to make a modification to a line ALL lines subsequent to the one you changed must be deleted then re-created. For exemple if you change the date of the line 2 of the ledger you must delete all subsequent lines the re-create line 3 etc...

2. NEW LINE - To add a line to the ledger click on "ADD NEW ENTRY TO LEDGER". You can then enter the new end date, description, recovery or cost for this line... all other fields are automatically generated. "DELETE LEDGER LINE", this button deletes the last line from the ledger.

SETTLEMENT - To add a settlement to a case simply fill out the settlement field with the total amount of the settlement. This will add a new line to the ledger with the balance due on the settlement amount. (If you recovered the amount A on the case then enter a settlement S, the amount due on this settlement is automatically calculated S-A)

1. In the AMOUNT PAID BACK section you can write down each payment you made from the amount recovered.
2. Enter the percentage agreed on in the Percentage setup. You can enter your percentage on the principal recovered amount (P%) and on the interest recovered amount (I%). The PO% represents the actual payout percentage on the case generated from the amount actually collected by each party.
3. Due By Plaintiff. All amounts that are removed from the Plaintiff's share of the recovery.
4. The payout sections allows you to instantly how much money from what you recovered is due back to all parties involved (you, the plaintiff, and eventually a third party).
